Hi all,
I just downloaded my email, and got an attachment from someone, I don't know who the heck he is, but I'm always getting some attachments from him once in awhile, and I've always deleted them. I never open attachments unless I'm expecting them. When I started to hit the delete button, it just came up playing a song. it was some christmas song about wanting a dolly. I panicked. I mean, I didn't even press enter on it, I just highlighted it, and the stupid thing began playing. I've never had this happen before. is there some setting I need to change in security options, to keep this sort of thing from happening again? need a response asap. I did manage to dele it the third time before it started playing. I wondered if someone had found a way to create a singing virus? I didn't like it at all.

I don't know if this will help. but, do you have email displaying in text format?
Go into the tools menu and choose options.
Press enter. Control tab to the "read" tab. In this dialog, make sure "plain text" is the checked radio button. I don't know if this will fix your problem of a singing attachment, but it might.
Also, make sure the preview pane is unchecked. I think this is on the first tab you land on in the options dialog.

I think that this person just snet you a lil bit of spam.
Basicly, people put code in emails that makes them look better, but you can make them play sounds and redirect to webpages.
Do what blake said and disable the preview pain.
Hope this helps, BEN.

Thanks ben, and blake, will do. I already checked under security, and the check box that says, do not allow attachments to open that could harm my computer is checked. it's checked not to even open them. I'll do what you suggest though.
